Hamid Tehrani (Plastic Surgeon and CBS member) has developed Surgeryskills.com, a venture aimed at improving access to surgical training through free or low-cost courses. The online courses have been adopted by a number of UK and International medical schools, numerous medical societies, and PLASTA (Plastic Surgery Trainees Association).

You can take the courses at home, whenever you want, and at your own pace. At the end of each course students submit their work and get individual feedback, with a printable certificate being issued for your portfolio.

The 'Introduction to Surgery' course is aimed at FY trainees, whilst the 'Suturing Skills' course is suitable for FY, CT and early ST trainees. The 'Minor procedures' course is similarly aimed at FY, CT and ST years, and teaches a wide range of skills from biopsies through to lesion marking, excision, cyst removal and abscess management.
