What data do we collect?

CBS may collect the following personal information:

  • Name, preferred salutation, gender
  • Email address, mobile phone number
  • Date of birth, postal code, street address
  • Employer, trust, or organization details (including date started, job title, employment type, and professional identifiers such as GMC number)
  • Professional affiliations (private hospitals, academic positions, Royal College, trade union membership, specialty associations, indemnity providers)

Certain data, such as trade union membership, may be considered special category data under GDPR. We only process this information where a lawful basis applies (see Reference below).

How do we collect your data?

We collect data when you:

  • Complete an application or contact form on our website
  • Voluntarily participate in a survey or provide feedback
  • Interact with our website through cookies
  • Share your information at partnership events/conferences/webinar/projects

If you complete an anonymised survey, responses are stored for a maximum of five years for research purposes. They are then deleted, and you will not be contacted for marketing unless you have explicitly opted in.

Your data is securely stored in our CRM system (HubSpot) on servers located within the EU.

  • Membership data is kept for the duration of your membership.
  • After membership ends, we retain your data for ten years before securely deleting it.
