CBS Statement on Industrial Action

According to CBS Vice President Nigel Mercer;

‘It is immoral for consultants, who are seen by the public as leaders of healthcare teams nationwide, to be advised to take industrial action in a national crisis. It uses our patients as pawns. In addition, giving those NHS staff who are ‘shell shocked’ a bit more cash and sending them ‘back to the trenches’ will not help the individual recover. At the Confederation of British Surgery we have new, cost-neutral proposals that will mean real change to those on the front line".
